20 Week Bumpdate

We are halfway there!
How far along: 20 weeks

Baby Size: A small cantaloupe

Weight gain: Still no idea (I knew that I didn't want to get caught up in a number, so each time I've been to my doctor I've closed my eyes as I've gotten on the scale and just asked them if I'm right on track, or need to slow down or gain more. So far, I've been on track and that's all that matters! :)

Maternity clothes: Yup. I ordered a few things from Destination Maternity this past week and oh my! My Pea in a Pod tshirt and leggings came today and I'm in love. SO comfy and soft. The pieces I ordered are all shipping separately so the rest of my order should be here by Thursday. I had to order a couple pairs of maternity shorts and a swimsuit for our fast approaching trip to Fort Myers/Sanibel Island. I can't wait for them to come in so I can try them on. I was holding out on ordering maternity clothes but now I'm wondering why. In love. I might just live in my new maternity leggings for the rest of my pregnancy.

Stretch marks: None yet.

Sleep: I've come to the conclusion that my husband and I need a bigger bed ;) I've been waking up several times a night to use the bathroom and sleeping much lighter than normal so every time my husband tosses or turns it wakes me up as well. It's not too terrible but I'm not looking forward to continuing to get bigger and more and more uncomfortable.

Gender: It's a GIRL!

Movement: Oh yes ;) I can feel her at random moments throughout the day and I love it.

Best moment this week: No one moment stands out this week but I have to say, it was pretty cool coming home from a 14 hour shift at the hospital the other night and not only had our crib arrived, but my husband had already put it together. It looks great and I love the crib we chose. I also love how excited and involved my husband is. Not only did I come home to her crib put together, but I noticed that he had been reading through one of the baby books he ordered. I don't think I take the time to thank him enough for all that he does. Not everyone has such a loving, supportive, and involved spouse and I truly am lucky to have him as a husband and our little girl will be so lucky to have him as her dad!

Looking forward to: Our upcoming Babymoon/belated honeymoon to Florida!

Food cravings: I'm still loving all things sweet (except sweet drinks). I'm sure I'm not the only one whose diet took a turn for the worse during this holiday season, but I really am trying hard not to let this pregnancy give me an excuse to eat whatever I want. I am trying to get back to eating healthier. Today I stocked up on plenty of fruits, veggies, and lean meats at the grocery store. Hoping that a better diet will have me looking and feeling good for the duration of the pregnancy.

Feeling extra large this week ;)

Anything making you queasy or sick: As I mentioned here, any rich or sugary drinks are still off the table

Labor Signs: Nope.

What I miss: This week I really noticed a huge growth spurt- I guess that makes sense considering our little girl is as big as a cantaloupe now. To be honest, I just feel so much bigger all of a sudden and I've started really missing my old body. My flat tummy and basically just not feeling like a whale ;)) I already have been walking a few miles a day (on the treadmill since it's been so cold here lately) and I'm hoping that the better diet mentioned above will improve both my physical health and my mood.

Symptoms: Heartburn at night and that's pretty much it this week.

Nursery: Starting to come together!

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Mood: A little bit of everything

19 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 19 weeks

Baby Size: Heirloom tomato

Weight gain: Still no idea (I knew that I didn't want to get caught up in a number, so each time I've been to my doctor I've closed my eyes as I've gotten on the scale and just asked them if I'm right on track, or need to slow down or gain more. So far, I've been on track and that's all that matters! :)

Maternity clothes: Yup. I may need to invest in a couple maternity tops soon. My mom got me a super soft maternity sweater for Christmas and I love how roomy and comfy it is. I'm also thinking that I need a few things for our upcoming babymoon. I definitely have no warm weather clothes that fit right now!

Stretch marks: None yet.

Sleep: I've been a little congested the past couple of nights, so that's made sleep a bit trickier than it already is. Still using this Snoogle, and a few other regular pillows to prop me up so I can breathe. Falling asleep is no problem at all, but staying asleep is a different story!

Gender: It's a GIRL!

Movement: Baby girl loves laying on my bladder :) I felt her move for the first time while I was at work on the 23rd. It was the strangest feeling. At first I couldn't tell if it was her or not, but then she did it again and I knew it was her. So weird/awesome/cool

Best moment this week: Christmas day was incredible. Not only did we get to spend some time with both of our families, but we got to reveal baby's gender!

I had a little silver gift box that I picked up during my holiday shopping and I filled it with pink tissue paper, feathers, and a ribbon glued to a piece of pink scrapbook paper announcing that we are having a girl. For both families we had everyone go around making their predictions, and then we had the grandparents open it. My brother got a pretty cool video of my mom opening the box and everyone's reactions. My SIL on Zach's side of the family got some pictures as well.

The contents of our gender reveal box

Later that evening we made our announcement on Facebook, and we love knowing our little one's gender and not having to keep it a secret anymore. It feels so good to know that we are having a girl and to be able to call her by her name.

Looking forward to: Our upcoming Babymoon/belated honeymoon to Florida!

Food cravings: Oh man...these! I can't stop. I try to keep to limit myself to just two a day. If I'm being honest though, a third will sometimes have to happen. They are just SO good! I've gone through a bag of cuties on my own this past week, so when Zach and I went to Costco on Friday I snagged a big bag of Halos. I'm sure their days are limited... ;)

Anything making you queasy or sick: As I mentioned here, any rich or sugary drinks are still off the table

Labor Signs: Nope.

What I miss: Wine, a flat tummy, tough workouts

Symptoms: Heartburn at night and that's pretty much it this week. I've been feeling pretty good lately!

Nursery: We ordered our crib and a mattress this week. We ordered this one and can't wait for it to arrive!

18 Week Bumpdate

How far along: 18 weeks

Baby Size: Sweet potato

Weight gain: Still no idea (I knew that I didn't want to get caught up in a number, so each time I've been to my doctor I've closed my eyes as I've gotten on the scale and just asked them if I'm right on track, or need to slow down or gain more. So far, I've been on track and that's all that matters! :)

Maternity clothes: Yup. No maternity tops but I'm still wearing my two favorite pairs of jeans I bought from Motherhood Maternity and a really comfy long maxi skirt I have. Funny enough, at work this week my non-maternity scrub bottoms finally got a bit too uncomfortable. I had my friend at work cut the seams with a scissors to let them out a bit. Gotta do what ya gotta do!

Stretch marks: None yet.

Sleep: Not terrible. I'm a lifelong stomach sleeper though, so it's been a bit of an adjustment... still using this Snoogle

Gender: We just found out today! We will be sharing the news with our families on Christmas morning and will be announcing the gender to everyone else shortly thereafter.

Movement: None yet.

Best moment this week: The ultrasound today was incredible. It was surreal to see our child and be able to pick out precious body parts like fingers, toes, legs, spine etc. It was reassuring to see that baby is doing alright in there and that everything appears on track and normal. And of course I bawled like a baby when we found out the gender. We both just could not be any more overjoyed than we are.

Looking forward to: Christmas Day!

Food cravings: Nothing specifically, but if I think of something that sounds good it's like I have to have it and now!

Anything making you queasy or sick: As I mentioned here, any rich or sugary drinks are still off the table

Labor Signs: Nope.

What I miss: Wine, a flat tummy, tough workouts

Symptoms: A new symptom that I just started experiencing in the last day or two- occasional/intermittent abdominal and lower back pains. ouch!

Nursery: Now that we know the gender I think the nursery is really going to start coming together! As I mentioned, we have our glider now and we have a dresser we are using for the bab, so next on our list is finding the perfect crib ;)

17 Week Bumpdate

Whew! I meant to post this update yesterday but it was been a long weekend here! I worked all weekend long, and then spent all day yesterday running around town doing Christmas shopping :) I got some great stuff, but will save that for another post.

I cannot believe that we are at 17 weeks as of yesterday. I am feeling better and getting bigger by the day...

How far along: 17 weeks

Baby Size: Pomegranate

Weight gain: Still no idea (I knew that I didn't want to get caught up in a number, so each time I've been to my doctor I've closed my eyes as I've gotten on the scale and just asked them if I'm right on track, or need to slow down or gain more. So far, I've been on track and that's all that matters! :)

Maternity clothes: Yup! Still living in my maternity jeans and have managed to hold off on buying an new maternity clothes so far. We'll see how much longer I can hold off before it becomes necessary!

Stretch marks: None yet.

Sleep: Not terrible. I'm a lifelong stomach sleeper though, so it's been a bit of an adjustment... still using this Snoogle

Gender: We will hopefully be finding out one week from today!!

Movement: None yet.

Best moment this week: We bought the first piece of furniture for baby's room and it was delivered this past Thursday. Zach got home from work and put the chair together right away. We both love it and joke that we will be using it, ya know (just to break it in!), all the way up until the baby gets here.

Looking forward to: Our ultrasound next week!!

Symptoms: Heartburn

Nursery: We cleaned out the closet in the baby's room this past Thursday. Both Zach and I had random clothes, and shoes (and I had a ton of purses/bags!) that we kept it that closet that were overflow from our own. We moved some stuff back to our closet and made room there for it by filling up two huge bags of stuff that I dropped off at Good Will on Friday. Now that baby's closet is empty, we will be able to start filling it with his/her things as we accumulate it. As I mentioned, we have our glider now and we have a dresser we are using for Baby B, so next on our list is finding the perfect crib ;)

Five on Friday

Today I'm linking up for Five on Friday for the first time!

Here is what I'm loving this week...

ONE

This holiday season! Christmas is my favorite holiday and there is so much to look forward to this year. Cookie making, gift giving, spending time with our family and friends, and overall enjoying this last year with just the two of us. Hard to believe that we get to find out the gender of our little one in just ten short days! We are looking forward to sharing the news with all of our immediate family on Christmas day.

Plus I love how cozy our house seems this time of year
Still have some more holiday decorations to put out, but it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!

This year was also our first year buying and setting up our very own tree. I loved decorating it with ornaments both new and old

My very first Christmas ornament!

TWO:

Comfy chairs! After sitting in literally every chair at the La-z-Boy store a couple weeks ago, we settled on this one, and it was delivered earlier this week

Love!

We also ordered this chair for the baby's room and it was delivered today. Can't wait to put it together and try it out!

THREE

I've been loving this Naked Basics 2 palette so far! There are 5 cool toned matte shades and a lighter, more shimmery champagne shade. Each of them are velvety and great at making a wearable smoky eye. I love how simple it is to just throw in my little make up bag with the rest of my daily "essentials" and take it with me on the go.

FOUR

I mentioned in my last pregnancy post that I've had a serious adversion to sugary drinks! As a result, I've pretty much had nothing but water to drink since the day I found out I was pregnant. The exception to this is that every once in awhile I will enjoy some tea and this is the one I have been loving lately... so yummy and warms me right up :)

Unsweetened please!

FIVE

Seeing this movie this past weekend. I read this trilogy over four years ago, and so far I am loving the movies just as much as the books which is unusual because I usually feel like movies don't do books justice. It was SO good!

Now I just can't wait to go see Part Two!

And that's it for me... what are you loving this week?

Bumpdate - 16 weeks

I cannot believe that I have not updated this blog in literally years! I still love reading blogs, but time and just life in general sure has kept me from putting in the effort to put out any posts of my own.

This year there have been so many changes though, and I would love to start chronicling my life again. Newly married and expecting our first child.. there are going to be so many fun memories that I won't want to forget!

So here we go, my first ever Bumpdate:

How far along: 16 weeks

Baby Size: Avocado

Weight gain: Honestly, no idea. I knew that I didn't want to get caught up in a number, so each time I've been to my doctor I've closed my eyes as I've gotten on the scale and just asked them if I'm right on track, or need to slow down or gain more. So far, I've been on track and that's all that matters! :)

Maternity clothes: Yup! Not so much tops, but I officially own two pairs of maternity jeans that I pretty much live in when I'm not wearing my scrubs for work. This week I also had to shop for a few new bras in a size up.

Stretch marks: None yet.

Sleep: Eh, it's not terrible. I'm a lifelong stomach sleeper though, so it's been a bit of an adjustment. We bought a Snoogle from Bed, Bath, and Beyond that's helping a bit.

Gender: Unknown.

Movement: None yet.

Best moment this week: We had a dinner this past Saturday night at the 180 Room (a private room of Oklahoma Joe's that we rented out for the evening) to celebrate our getting married with our families and a few good friends. It was such a great time for both Zach and I, and so special to have so many people that we love all together! By far the highlight of our week.

Looking forward to: Finding out if Baby B is a boy or girl!! We have our ultrasound scheduled for Monday December 22nd.

Food cravings: Nothing specifically, but if I think of something that sounds good it's like I have to have it and now!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Sugary drinks. Definitely my biggest pregnancy adversion. I cannot stand the thought of drinking soda or juice. Yuck. I pretty much can only tolerate water. I was queasy/sick all the time from around week 6 until week 9 or so, but thankfully it's not so bad now and I only feel queasy every once in awhile.

Labor Signs: Nope.

What I miss: Wine, a flat tummy, tough workouts

Symptoms: Right now I'd say my biggest symptom is heartburn. No bueno.

Nursery: We bought a glider/rocker/recliner for our nursery that will be delivered this week. We already have a dresser we are using that is a family heirloom. Next on our list is finding the perfect crib ;)

Belly Button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Mood: Anxious & excited for everything ahead!

Our first ultrasound! Seeing that there was, in fact, a baby inside of me and seeing the little beating heart was the coolest thing.

Getting ready to head out for my 3rd OB appt at 14 weeks

Hoping to get better at taking pictures to add to each entry ;) We are so excited for the next chapter in our lives and I hope to document this whole journey here!

A Quick Recap...

I'm going to join everyone else and say that this weekend went by way too fast.

Friday I went over to my parent's house for some important business - raiding their kitchen and floating around their pool with a fruity drink in hand. They are wanting to move {eventually} so they have been going through some stuff and I had a box of things to pick up to bring back here.

Saturday Zach and I woke up and while I sucked down coffee like the non-morning person I am, he went downstairs to lift weights. Once I was finally awake we went on a 7 mile run together. We ran it in a little over an hour, and while our time might not be super fast - it was a very difficult run and I am so proud of us!

Later that day we went to a BBQ at one of his buddy's houses. I really will remember to start taking more pictures one of these days, but unfortunately I took exactly zero pictures of all our weekend fun.

Sunday we slept in and then joined some of our friends at their apartment complexes pool. It was a great Sunday Funday filled with swimming, laying out, BBQing dogs, and indulging in a beverage or three ;)

By the time we got home Sunday we were exhausted and finished up Season 1of this show on Netflix:

We are hooked! I love a show that has a woman that is strong (physically and mentally) and kicks butt. We do find ourselves occasionally rolling our eyes while watching this and saying "Yeah, right. Surrrrrre that could really happen!" But honestly? We are hooked, and can't wait to watch Season 2. Unfortunately it's not on Netflix so we'll have to find some other way.

Other things I've been loving lately?

Favorites post--- coming tomorrow!

I'm off to pour myself a glass of wine and plan dinner, as we have dinner guests tonight!
